Henry Arundell to Return to England Rugby with Bath After Leaving Racing 92

Henry Arundell is set to reignite his England career after signing with Gallagher Premiership leaders Bath for the 2025/26 season. The 22-year-old has been ineligible for England selection since last year's World Cup due to his contract with French club Racing 92, which was set to run until 2026. Arundell, who joined Racing after the collapse of London Irish in June 2023, will now return to English club rugby in a move that strengthens Bath's squad, adding to a star-studded backline alongside players like Finn Russell, Ollie Lawrence, and Ben Spencer.

Arundell’s return to England eligibility is a significant boost for head coach Steve Borthwick, as players must be contracted to a Premiership club to be selected for England. His previous exception to play in the 2023 World Cup was based on the unique circumstances surrounding his move to Racing 92. However, with his switch to Bath, Arundell will now be available for future international duty, offering Borthwick a versatile option in both wing and full-back positions.

The signing is a blow to Racing 92, where Arundell has made a strong impact, scoring 12 tries in 26 appearances. His departure comes at a difficult time for the French club, who are struggling under former head coach Stuart Lancaster. Arundell's return to Bath and the England fold is seen as a major boost to the team’s future ambitions, especially in their pursuit of success at the 2027 World Cup.
