Former President Bill Clinton, 78, hospitalized:

Former President Bill Clinton, 78, was hospitalized Monday and is undergoing testing after developing a fever. Angel Urena, Clinton's former deputy chief of staff, wrote on X that the former president was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C but is doing fine. He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving. Urena added that the former president hopes to be home and out of the hospital in time for Christmas. He said that Clinton was receiving care as a precaution after developing a fever.

Clinton's health has been in the spotlight in recent years as the once-vibrant Democrat has noticeably aged.

In 2021, he was also hospitalized after a urological infection spread to his blood stream. He also underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2004 and had a procedure to open an artery six years later. He's been in the spotlight in recent months as he promotes his new memoir 'Citizen' and hit the campaign trail for Kamala Harris.

In it, he let out his frustration at being questioned about his relationship with then-intern Monica Lewinsky and admits he never apologized directly to her. He writes about a 2018 interview on NBC's 'Today Show' when he admits he was 'caught off guard' by questions on the subject. In addition, earlier this month Clinton said he was willing to talk to President Joe Biden about a presumptive pardon for wife Hillary Clinton in case President-elect Donald Trump would try to lock her up. Trump railed against Clinton in their 2016 campaign and his nominee to lead the FBI Kash Patel, has said he thinks the former secretary of state has potentially committed crimes.
